A 100 kW CAPEX rooftop system for a Palwal factory costs about ₹23 lakh (₹23,000/kW) excluding GST with Sun Wave, and a 500 kW system about ₹1.1 crore (₹22,000/kW). Sizes in between are priced progressively, and the final quote follows a site survey of your roof, load and DHBVN connection.
Where we work
Units around Baghola, Prithla, Tatarpur, Dudhola, Jatola and Chhaprola.
Fed by DHBVN's Baghola 66 kV substation, being upgraded for overloading.
About 2,105 ha zoned for industry, with Prithla planned as the industrial centre.
About 111 plots on 69 acres (DIC data, c. 2012).
State cluster facility with heat-treatment furnaces and electroplating.
Who we build for
Palwal's largest category of units; day-shift machining matches solar output.
Prithla and Baghola units make sheet-metal parts and nuts and bolts.
Ghee and milk-powder plants run refrigeration and process loads all day.
A mixed manufacturing base across the Prithla belt.
Grid rules
Under HERC's 2021 rooftop regulations, net metering is allowed up to 500 kW or your sanctioned load / contract demand, whichever is lower. Larger plants can use gross metering up to contract demand. Consumers drawing open-access power cannot also net-meter.
Source: HERC Rooftop Solar Regulations 2021Since HERC's 2nd Amendment (October 2025), surplus credits carry forward within a 1 October – 30 September settlement period. Credits left at the end are bought by the DISCOM at 90% of the feed-in tariff, so size the plant for daytime self-consumption.
Source: HERC 2nd Amendment, DHBVN circular D-23/2025HT industrial supply (above 50 kW) pays ₹6.95/kVAh at 11 kV and ₹6.85/kVAh at 33 kV, plus ₹290/kVA/month of contract demand. Electricity duty, municipal tax and FSA are extra. There is no solar-hour rebate in the FY2026-27 schedule.

HERC rules require a technical-feasibility decision within 15 days and a Letter of Approval within 22 days of acknowledgement; the plant must then be installed within 180 days.
Source: HERC Rooftop Solar Regulations 2021Consumers with 100 kW or more of contract demand can buy green power through open access; since 2025 several connections in the same operation division can be clubbed to reach 100 kW. FY2026-27 HT charges include ₹0.73/kWh wheeling and ₹1.45/kWh cross-subsidy surcharge.

| Item | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| System cost | ₹23,00,000 | 100 kW × ₹23,000/kW, ex-GST (Sun Wave reference) |
| Year-1 generation | 1,20,000 units | 100 kW × 1,200 kWh/kWp/year (Delhi Solar Policy, 2nd Amendment 2026) |
| Grid energy charge avoided | ₹6.95/kVAh | HT industrial energy charge at 11 kV, FY2026-27 (DHBVN circular D-06/2026) |
| Year-1 saving | ≈ ₹8,34,000 | 1,20,000 × ₹6.95 |
| Simple payback | ≈ 2.8 years | System cost ÷ year-1 saving |
Illustrative only. Assumes the factory uses all solar output during working hours and counts the energy charge alone, treating one kVAh as one kWh (unity power factor). It excludes GST, demand charges, surcharges, panel degradation, O&M and financing. Your actual payback depends on your tariff category, load profile and roof. Local context
Prithla industrialists reported frequent power cuts and voltage problems in May 2026 that force generator use and raise production costs.
Source: Live Hindustan, May 2026To relieve overloading in the Baghola industrial area, DHBVN planned to raise the Baghola 66 kV substation's transformer from 12.5/16 MVA to 25/31.5 MVA (Aug 2025).
Source: Amar Ujala, Aug 2025Palwal's integrated development plan to 2041 (notified Aug 2026) zones about 2,105 ha for industry and proposes a logistics hub near Prithla along the freight corridor.
Source: UNI, Aug 2026Palwal is in the National Capital Region, so CAQM Direction No. 76 applies: diesel DG sets may run only as backup, and older sets of 41–800 kW need dual-fuel kits or certified emission-control retrofits. Rooftop solar cuts the daytime units a DG set or the grid has to supply.
Source: CAQM Direction No. 76 (as amended 2024)Palwal district is served by DHBVN's Palwal circle. Applications go through DHBVN's online solar portal with a ₹1,000 fee, and HERC rules call for a feasibility decision within 15 days and a Letter of Approval within 22 days of acknowledgement.
A grid-tied rooftop plant cuts the daytime units you buy from DHBVN or make with a DG set. It shuts down during a grid outage for safety, so running through cuts needs a system designed for it, such as one with batteries.
DHBVN's FY2026-27 schedule sets the HT energy charge at ₹6.95/kVAh at 11 kV and ₹6.85/kVAh at 33 kV, plus ₹290/kVA/month of contract demand. Electricity duty, municipal tax and FSA are extra.
Sun Wave's reference price is ₹23,000/kW excluding GST at 100 kW and ₹22,000/kW at 500 kW. The final price follows a site survey; plant size is capped at your contract demand and net metering at 500 kW.
