A 100 kW CAPEX rooftop system for a Bawal & Dharuhera factory costs about ₹23 lakh (₹23,000/kW) excluding GST with Sun Wave, and a 500 kW system about ₹1.1 crore (₹22,000/kW). Sizes in between are priced progressively, and the final quote follows a site survey of your roof, load and DHBVN connection.
Where we work
About 3,366 acres across four phases, with 200 MVA power availability listed.
HSIIDC sectors 3 and 4 with established factories.
About 337 plots and 323 producing units (2015-16 district profile).
About 427 acres listed for development.
About 63 plots and 46 producing units (2015-16 district profile).
Who we build for
Auto plants and suppliers across Dharuhera and Bawal run long day shifts.
Drawing and extrusion lines make energy a large cost line.
Clean-room HVAC runs through solar hours.
Fabrication and machining loads match daytime generation.
Large cooling loads during the day suit rooftop solar.
Grid rules
Under HERC's 2021 rooftop regulations, net metering is allowed up to 500 kW or your sanctioned load / contract demand, whichever is lower. Larger plants can use gross metering up to contract demand. Consumers drawing open-access power cannot also net-meter.
Source: HERC Rooftop Solar Regulations 2021Since HERC's 2nd Amendment (October 2025), surplus credits carry forward within a 1 October – 30 September settlement period. Credits left at the end are bought by the DISCOM at 90% of the feed-in tariff, so size the plant for daytime self-consumption.
Source: HERC 2nd Amendment, DHBVN circular D-23/2025HT industrial supply (above 50 kW) pays ₹6.95/kVAh at 11 kV and ₹6.85/kVAh at 33 kV, plus ₹290/kVA/month of contract demand. Electricity duty, municipal tax and FSA are extra. There is no solar-hour rebate in the FY2026-27 schedule.

HERC rules require a technical-feasibility decision within 15 days and a Letter of Approval within 22 days of acknowledgement; the plant must then be installed within 180 days.
Source: HERC Rooftop Solar Regulations 2021Consumers with 100 kW or more of contract demand can buy green power through open access; since 2025 several connections in the same operation division can be clubbed to reach 100 kW. FY2026-27 HT charges include ₹0.73/kWh wheeling and ₹1.45/kWh cross-subsidy surcharge.

| Item | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| System cost | ₹23,00,000 | 100 kW × ₹23,000/kW, ex-GST (Sun Wave reference) |
| Year-1 generation | 1,20,000 units | 100 kW × 1,200 kWh/kWp/year (Delhi Solar Policy, 2nd Amendment 2026) |
| Grid energy charge avoided | ₹6.95/kVAh | HT industrial energy charge at 11 kV, FY2026-27 (DHBVN circular D-06/2026) |
| Year-1 saving | ≈ ₹8,34,000 | 1,20,000 × ₹6.95 |
| Simple payback | ≈ 2.8 years | System cost ÷ year-1 saving |
Illustrative only. Assumes the factory uses all solar output during working hours and counts the energy charge alone, treating one kVAh as one kWh (unity power factor). It excludes GST, demand charges, surcharges, panel degradation, O&M and financing. Your actual payback depends on your tariff category, load profile and roof. Local context
A planned ₹42 crore 132 kV GIS substation for the Bawal industrial area was stalled for about 2.5 years over land possession (June 2025), and units report overload faults and unannounced summer cuts.
Source: Dainik Jagran, Jun 2025Rewari district counted about 1,800 industrial units, 141 of them medium and large, in its 2015-16 MSME profile.
Source: DC-MSME Rewari profile 2015-16Bawal and Dharuhera are in Rewari district, Haryana, which DHBVN lists among its 12 districts — so HERC's net-metering rules apply, not Rajasthan's.
Source: DHBVN, About usRewari district, including Bawal and Dharuhera, is in the National Capital Region, so CAQM Direction No. 76 applies: diesel DG sets may run only as backup, and older sets of 41–800 kW need dual-fuel kits or certified emission-control retrofits. Rooftop solar cuts the daytime units a DG set or the grid has to supply.
Source: CAQM Direction No. 76 (as amended 2024)IMT Bawal and Dharuhera are in Rewari district, Haryana, and served by DHBVN's Rewari circle. HERC's net-metering rules apply: up to 500 kW or your contract demand, whichever is lower. Neighbouring Bhiwadi is in Rajasthan and follows different rules.
Haryana consumers with 100 kW or more of contract demand qualify for green energy open access. FY2026-27 HT charges include ₹0.73/kWh wheeling and ₹1.45/kWh cross-subsidy surcharge, and a consumer on open access cannot also use net metering.
Sun Wave's reference price is ₹23,000/kW excluding GST at 100 kW, about ₹23 lakh, and ₹22,000/kW at 500 kW. The final price follows a site survey, and DHBVN fixed demand charges stay on the bill under net metering.
Local reports describe overload faults and summer cuts in Bawal while a planned 132 kV substation was delayed. Solar also replaces daytime grid units at an HT energy charge of ₹6.95/kVAh at 11 kV.
