A 100 kW CAPEX rooftop system for a Bahadurgarh factory costs about ₹23 lakh (₹23,000/kW) excluding GST with Sun Wave, and a 500 kW system about ₹1.1 crore (₹22,000/kW). Sizes in between are priced progressively, and the final quote follows a site survey of your roof, load and UHBVN connection.
Where we work
About 2,322 plots on 497 acres, around 1,500 producing units (district profile).
About 300 acres with 368 units, now at capacity.
General-industry estate next to the Footwear Park.
About 26 plots on 177 acres (district profile).
About 85 plots on 107 acres (district profile).
Who we build for
About 2,500 units making over 60% of India's non-leather footwear; day-shift cutting and stitching.
Rolling and drawing are power-intensive daytime processes.
Large sheds and heavy electrical auxiliaries.
Moulding loads run through solar hours.
Grid rules
Under HERC's 2021 rooftop regulations, net metering is allowed up to 500 kW or your sanctioned load / contract demand, whichever is lower. Larger plants can use gross metering up to contract demand. Consumers drawing open-access power cannot also net-meter.
Source: HERC Rooftop Solar Regulations 2021Since HERC's 2nd Amendment (October 2025), surplus credits carry forward within a 1 October – 30 September settlement period. Credits left at the end are bought by the DISCOM at 90% of the feed-in tariff, so size the plant for daytime self-consumption.
Source: HERC 2nd Amendment, DHBVN circular D-23/2025HT industrial supply (above 50 kW) pays ₹6.95/kVAh at 11 kV and ₹6.85/kVAh at 33 kV, plus ₹290/kVA/month of contract demand. Electricity duty, municipal tax and FSA are extra. There is no solar-hour rebate in the FY2026-27 schedule.

HERC rules require feasibility within 15 days and a Letter of Approval within 22 days; plants above 20 kWp also need a safety certificate from the Chief Electrical Inspector before commissioning.

FY2026-27 HT charges include ₹0.73/kWh wheeling and ₹1.45/kWh cross-subsidy surcharge.

| Item | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| System cost | ₹23,00,000 | 100 kW × ₹23,000/kW, ex-GST (Sun Wave reference) |
| Year-1 generation | 1,20,000 units | 100 kW × 1,200 kWh/kWp/year (Delhi Solar Policy, 2nd Amendment 2026) |
| Grid energy charge avoided | ₹6.95/kVAh | HT industrial energy charge at 11 kV, FY2026-27 (HERC FY2026-27 order (DHBVN circular D-06/2026)) |
| Year-1 saving | ≈ ₹8,34,000 | 1,20,000 × ₹6.95 |
| Simple payback | ≈ 2.8 years | System cost ÷ year-1 saving |
Illustrative only. Assumes the factory uses all solar output during working hours and counts the energy charge alone, treating one kVAh as one kWh (unity power factor). It excludes GST, demand charges, surcharges, panel degradation, O&M and financing. Your actual payback depends on your tariff category, load profile and roof. Local context
Bahadurgarh is served by UHBVN — its Jhajjar operation circle has a dedicated XEN Bahadurgarh division — so applications go to UHBVN's portal, not DHBVN's.
Source: UHBVN Jhajjar contact directoryFootwear industrialists named steep electricity tariffs as a major challenge alongside GST and labour shortages (July 2025), and the Footwear Park is full, so existing roofs are the main space for new energy capacity.
Source: The Tribune, Jul 2025The local chamber says Bahadurgarh has over 9,000 industrial units; in March 2026 a cap on daily PNG supply, with over-drawal billed at higher rates, showed units' exposure to fuel-cost shocks.
Source: The Tribune, Mar 2026Bahadurgarh (Jhajjar district) is in the National Capital Region, so CAQM Direction No. 76 applies: diesel DG sets may run only as backup, and older sets of 41–800 kW need dual-fuel kits or certified emission-control retrofits. Rooftop solar cuts the daytime units a DG set or the grid has to supply.

Yes, usually. Footwear units mostly run daytime cutting, stitching and moulding, which matches solar generation, so most output is used on site. Sun Wave's reference price is ₹23,000/kW at 100 kW and ₹22,000/kW at 500 kW, excluding GST and final after a site survey.
Under HERC's 2021 regulations, net metering is allowed up to 500 kW or your sanctioned load / contract demand, whichever is lower. The plant also cannot exceed sanctioned load (LT) or contract demand (HT).
Jhajjar district is in the NCR, so CAQM Direction 76 allows DG sets only as backup. Older diesel sets must run dual-fuel or with certified emission-control retrofits unless they meet the CPCB-IV+ standard up to 800 kW or run on gas.
