Non-DCR prices were flat-to-down through mid-2026 (−3% MoM in April for both PERC and TOPCon, domestic ex-works), while DCR TOPCon jumped 9.4% MoM in May as ALMM List-II cell demand concentrated on domestic lines. Retail-branded channels (Waaree/Adani consumer SKUs) quote ₹17–22.50/W module-only — that's packaging, distribution and retail margin on top of ex-works, and it is not the reference for a multi-hundred-kW C&I procurement.
Turnkey price (₹/kW installed): what actually lands on your balance sheet. For standard C&I rooftop plants in 2026, all-in turnkey costs run ₹35,000–45,000/kW depending on size, roof type, cable runs and structure — MW-scale ground-mounts run lower, complex high-rise or hotel roofs higher. What is decisive for 25-year returns: the performance ratio you're guaranteed, the degradation schedule in the warranty, inverter quality (Sungrow/Solis-class Tier-1), and the O&M regime. A 2% PR improvement on a 500 kW plant is worth ~15,000 units a year — ₹1 lakh+ a year at ₹7/kWh — which dwarfs most module price differences.
How to compare quotes on ₹/W without getting burned
- Fix the SKU. Compare the exact module model (wattage, technology, ALMM model number), not "550W premium panel".
- Normalize on turnkey ₹/W with the same scope: structure type, cable length, LT/HT tie-in, net-metering fees, CEIG costs.
- Demand the generation forecast month-by-month with the PR assumption stated, and a performance warranty or generation guarantee in the contract.
- Check what's excluded — net-meter charges, inspector fees, LT panel upgrades and transformer work are the classic extras that make a cheap ₹/W quote expensive.
- Weigh warranty substance — product warranty years, linear degradation schedule, and whether the manufacturer honours claims in India (see solar warranty management).
